Sam Maule, Chief Inspirational Officer
Sam Maule is the Chief Inspirational Officer at the Digital Finance Institute. In that capacity, he is responsible for the Institute’s high level initiatives and for inspiring our members and those with whom we interact in FinTech, to make positive changes resulting in real world impacts. Sam is involved in the Digital Finance Institute’s initiatives for financial inclusion and refugee solutions with FinTech, its initiatives for women in FinTech and providing thought leadership for the world’s first Digital Finance Conference in Vancouver hosted by the Institute on June 3, 2015.
Sam is the Leader of the Emerging Payments Practice at Carlisle & Gallagher Consulting Group, an international banking consulting firm based in the United States. He joined Carlisle in June 2011, focusing on the cards & payments practice. In this role, Sam provides industry subject matter knowledge and experience to Carlisle’s financial services clients in support of projects such as consumer and commercial card portfolio management, emerging payments, loyalty & prepaid, and digital/mobile banking. Sam acts for most major banks and financial institutions in emerging payments and is a leader in emerging payment solutions.
Prior to Carlisle, Sam held management positions with TSYS in a number of consumer and commercial card roles to include digital card management, mobile, loyalty & prepaid and consultative services. These positions were focused both on domestic and international clients and included several years living abroad in the UK in support of the TSYS Europe client base.
Sam is an active voice in the FinTech Social Media space and his contributions led to his recognition as one of ‘Bank Innovation’s’ “30 Innovators to Watch 2014″ and “44 Executives Shaping the Future of Banking 2013″. Sam was also recognized by NextBank Europe in their 2014 “Who’s Who in FinTech” series. Sam is a frequent speaker internationally on FinTech including recently at Money 20/20 and Bank Innovation 2015.
Sam joined Brett King’s leading radio show on FinTech “Breaking Banks” with the International Relief Committee to discuss ways the Institute is exploring the use of FinTech to bring financial services to refugees affected by the Syrian crisis to address financial inclusion problems.
